    Well, I know you have at least one good one – the one about geocaching. What do you need to do to get it published?

    • Thank you for your vote of confidence it means a lot to me. Unfortunately there is a big difference between “good” to the average reader and “good” to a publisher.
      I still think it’s a “good” story but it is not good enough to publish. It took me three years of learning about writing to realize just how bad it is.
      It’s structured poorly, it often “tells instead of showing”, “uses a passive voice.” The many little errors in grammar and punctuation could be cleaned up but I get stumped on how to fix the rest.

      I often think novels are held to a higher standard than needed since the vast majority of readers are not Manhattan agents and editors with masters in English. But once you know better–what’s wrong with a story–it’s hard to leave it that way. I could self-publish it as an ebook on Amazon easily enough but I won’t without making it right.
